The Year of the Beast Starts Now: MidaZ The BEAST Debuts Dupont Registry in Orlando
The Year of the Beast begins this month, and Orlando is setting it off.
Prolific Orlando rapper MidaZ The BEAST kicks off 2026 with a full-album listening party for Dupont Registry, a 13-track collaborative project with longtime producer and DJ SHARP. The event takes place Wednesday, Jan. 28, at The Commission Beer Chamber in Curry Ford West — a neighborhood that continues to establish itself as a hub for Orlando’s independent music culture.
The night marks the official debut of Dupont Registry in its entirety, along with the premiere of the new music video for lead single “Rek Lo.” For MidaZ and SHARP., the release represents a milestone more than a debut — the latest chapter in a creative partnership that has spanned more than 15 years and multiple eras of Orlando hip-hop.
SHARP. opens the evening with a DJ set beginning at 9 p.m., followed by live performances from Polo Baby Flako of Kissimmee and Wahid, who recently opened for Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist during their Florida tour stops in October.
Also releasing that night is Operation Scale Flip, a new 1990s-inspired mixtape from MidaZ and Los Angeles emcee TriState of Gold Chain Music. Mixed by SHARP., the project features new verses over classic instrumentals made famous by rap duos including Outkast, Nas and Noreaga, and Redman and Method Man, reworked through a contemporary Orlando lens.
“We’ve been building on different projects for a while now, and the time has come to finally push this music out into the world,” MidaZ said. He has released four projects over the past two years.
The Dupont Registry listening party is part of The Commission’s week-long “Rhymes & Flows” celebration, running Jan. 26 through Feb. 1. The week includes the CD release party for The Commission Beer Chamber Mixtape Vol. 3 on Jan. 29 and concludes with a block party on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m.
“We are sharing this album with guests of The Commission as a show of gratitude for their constant support,” SHARP. said.
This isn’t just a listening party. It’s a statement —Hip-Hop’s roots run deep in Orlando, and monsters live here.
Welcome to 2026. The Year of the Beast has begun.
